Class of 2008
Nat Rosasco
Humanitarian Award

Nat C. Rosasco was a lifelong Chicagoland resident and a prominent figure in the golf industry for over 75 years. As the owner of Northwestern Golf Co., once the largest golf club manufacturer in the world, Nat made golf accessible to the common man and woman. His Northwestern brand brought golf to more people than any other in the 20th century.

Nat’s legacy extends far beyond his business achievements. He dedicated his life to humanitarian efforts, contributing millions of dollars to individuals in need and to programs benefiting underprivileged children worldwide. Through the “Nat Rosasco Heritage Cup Youth Fund,” he raised over $2 million for scholarships benefiting physically challenged high school students pursuing college and graduate degrees.

Nat also founded the “Hook a Kid on Golf Foundation,” supplying golf equipment to underprivileged children and supporting initiatives like the West Palm Beach Children’s Golf Foundation, which provided handicapped children access to the game. He worked with sports icons like Joe DiMaggio, Dan Marino, and Joe Louis to promote his initiatives. At the Cook County Joe Louis Championship Golf Course, a hole is named in his honor.

Nat’s proudest moment came from spending time with Mother Teresa, reflecting his deep commitment to humanitarian work. His kindness, generosity, and contributions to golf and charity leave a lasting legacy in the hearts of those he touched.
