Class of 2019
Mike Magee

Michael Magee scored 21 goals as a forward in the 2013 season with the Chicago Fire and was named MVP of Major League Soccer that same year. He last played for the LA Galaxy. Mike was born in Chicago, grew up playing for the Elmhurst Nightmares and Chicago Sockers. Mike also represented the US Youth National team in the U17 and U20 World Cups, scoring in both. At 18, Mike signed with the New York Red Bulls and was the youngest signing and goal scorer in club history. After graduation from the USSF’s Bradenton Academy, he entered the 2003 Major League Soccer Super Draft where the Metro Stars acquired Magee with their fourth overall pick. The youngster quickly stepped into the Metro lineup and played almost every game of the 2003 season. He became the youngest player in team history to start a game and score a goal. In 2009 he signed with the Los Angeles Galaxy where he went on to win 2 Supporters Shields as well as 2 MLS Cups, scoring 8 playoff goals during those runs which led the team. He made his first professional appearance as goalkeeper on June 25th, 2011, after the starter was injured and the reserve received a red card for an elbow to the face. Magee made four saves in the first time he ever played goal at any level of soccer. He had his most productive season with The Galaxy in 2011, scoring ten goals, including 3 in the playoffs, helping The Galaxy capture the 2011 MLS Cup. In 2013 Mike signed with the Chicago Fire, his hometown team that he fell in love with/dreamed of playing for since the day the club was created. That year, with all of his friends and family at every game, he went on to win MVP of the league. The first and only Chicago player to do so. He returned to The Galaxy in 2016. Since retiring from soccer, Mike has gone on to create a Vodka Company in Chicago called Sneaky Fox. Mike and his wife Kristen have a daughter and a son.
