Marv Levy is celebrated as one of the most successful coaches in NFL history, best known for his tenure as head coach of the Buffalo Bills. With 154 career victories, including 11 postseason wins, Levy ranks as the fifth-winningest coach in NFL postseason history. As the only coach to lead a team to four consecutive Super Bowl appearances, Levy’s Bills teams achieved eight playoff berths and five championship game victories during his tenure.
Twice named Coach of the Year by United Press International (1988, 1995), Levy also holds the distinction of being the oldest coach in NFL history, leading the Bills at the age of 72 in 1997. After retiring from coaching in 1997, Levy served as General Manager of the Bills from 2006 to 2007 and worked as a sports analyst for Fox Sports Net.
Levy’s illustrious career earned him induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2001 and the Academic All-American Hall of Fame in 1999. His legacy as a strategist, motivator, and leader remains an inspiration in the world of sports. He retired in January 2008, leaving an indelible mark on the NFL and the Buffalo Bills organization.
