Jerome Bettis, known as “The Bus,” is one of the most revered running backs in NFL history. A standout at Notre Dame, Bettis was selected by the Los Angeles Rams in the 1993 NFL Draft and quickly made his mark as one of the league’s most powerful runners. After being traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1996, Bettis became the cornerstone of the Steelers’ offense, earning a reputation for his punishing running style and leadership.

Over his 13-season career, Bettis rushed for 13,662 yards and 91 touchdowns, and was named to 6 Pro Bowls. His most memorable moment came when he led the Steelers to a victory in Super Bowl XL in 2006, securing his legacy with a championship in his final season. Bettis was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2015.

In recognition of his exemplary career and his contributions to the game, Bettis was honored with the Gale Sayers Award by the Chicagoland Sports Hall of Fame. Today, Jerome Bettis continues to be a beloved figure in football, admired not only for his on-field accomplishments but also for his leadership and generosity off the field.
