Renowned for his behind-the-scenes expertise, he was instrumental in shaping broadcasts for Chicago’s most beloved teams, including the Cubs, Bears, Bulls, and Blackhawks. His collaboration with Jack Brickhouse in the Cubs TV booth became legendary, and his contributions extended far beyond commentary—introducing innovations like the center field camera for baseball coverage.

A World War II Navy veteran and former print journalist, Rosenberg’s career at WGN included mentoring aspiring sportswriters and broadcasters, many of whom credit him for their success in the industry. He also had a significant hand in introducing iconic voices like Ron Santo to Cubs broadcasts. Rosenberg’s dedication to storytelling and professionalism earned him accolades such as the Ford C.
