Dan Hampton, a Pro Football Hall of Famer and a cornerstone of the Chicago Bears’ legendary 1985 Super Bowl-winning defense, played 12 seasons in the NFL after being drafted in the first round in 1979. Known as “Danimal” for his relentless style of play, Hampton overcame significant injuries, including 10 knee surgeries, to become one of the NFL’s most respected defensive linemen. A four-time All-Pro and a member of the NFL All-Decade Team of the 1980s, he showcased versatility by excelling at both defensive tackle and defensive end. Since retiring in 1990, Hampton has remained active as a sports commentator, spokesperson, and co-host for Pro Football Weekly TV. His contributions to football and his enduring connection with fans have solidified his legacy in the sport.
