Following his playing days, Hale transitioned into coaching and athletics administration. He served as a baseball coach at Northeastern Illinois, Florida Presbyterian, and as Director of Athletics at Oakton Community College. Additionally, he worked as a scout and minor league coach for several MLB teams, including the White Sox, Kansas City Athletics, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Chicago Cubs.
