A seasoned veteran of the National Football League, Emery Moorehead boasts a remarkable and versatile football career. His journey in sports began with All-State honors as a running back at Evanston Township High School in Evanston, Illinois. Later, at the University of Colorado, Moorehead showcased his versatility by excelling as both a running back and a receiver while captaining the Big 8 Championship team. He graduated with a B.A. in communications and also served as an officer of Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity.

Drafted by the New York Giants in 1977, Moorehead displayed his adaptability by playing various roles, including wide receiver and fullback. He later joined the Chicago Bears, concluding his 12-year career as their starting tight end for an impressive 7 consecutive years, culminating in a Super Bowl XX victory and the Bears’ World Championship. In recognition of his achievements, he was inducted into the Chicagoland Sports Hall of Fame in 1999.

Moorehead’s accolades extended to his personal life, where he achieved a unique feat alongside his son Aaron Moorehead, a former 5-year pro with the Indianapolis Colts. They became the first father and son duo in NFL history to win a Super Bowl Championship.

Beyond football, Moorehead embraced a successful career in real estate with Koenig & Strey Real Estate, attaining esteemed recognitions like the Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) designation and the GRI designation from the Illinois Association of Realtors. He served on various boards and held leadership roles within the North Shore Barrington Board of Realtors and the Illinois Association of Realtors.

Moorehead’s dedication to philanthropy shines through his involvement with numerous charities, including his contributions to the Boy Scouts of America. As a respected speaker, he has delivered motivational talks to colleges, universities, corporations, and organizations, sharing insights on teamwork, motivation, and football strategies.
