Born and raised in Chicago’s south suburbs, Corey McPherrin’s childhood dream was to become a sportscaster in his hometown.
His broadcasting journey began in Davenport, Iowa in 1977, and he further honed his skills as a sports broadcaster in Quincy, Illinois, New Orleans, and Atlanta. While in Atlanta, McPherrin received an Emmy in 1984 as “Outstanding News Performer” in the state of Georgia. In 1991, McPherrin returned to his beloved Chicago to assume sports anchor duties at WBBM-TV. He later joined FOX 32, where he co-anchors FOX 32 News at 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. from Monday to Friday. Throughout his 28 years at FOX 32 Chicago, Corey has earned five Emmy awards, a testament to his excellence in the field of sports broadcasting.
