Class of 2026

Brad Guzan

Brad Guzan, born September 9, 1984, in Evergreen Park, Illinois, built a two-decade professional career that took him from suburban Chicago youth pitches to the Premier League and back to MLS as a champion. After Chicago Magic Soccer Club and Providence Catholic High School, Guzan earned second-team All-American honors at South Carolina before being drafted second overall by Chivas USA in 2005. He was named MLS Goalkeeper of the Year in 2007.

In July 2008, Guzan signed with Premier League club Aston Villa, where he spent eight seasons and was named the club’s Player of the Year for 2012-13. After a brief stint at Middlesbrough, he returned to MLS with Atlanta United in 2017, helping the club win the 2018 MLS Cup. He retired in 2025 as Atlanta’s all-time appearance leader and longest-serving captain, returning in January 2026 as Club Ambassador and Sporting Advisor.

Guzan earned 64 caps for the United States national team between 2006 and 2021, representing his country at two FIFA World Cups, four CONCACAF Gold Cups (winning in 2007, 2017, and 2021), the 2008 Olympics, and the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup. He won the Gold Cup Golden Glove in 2015.
